Robert Polidori. Zones of Exclusion: Pripyat and Chernobyl

Robert Polidor.
His very expensive book based on Chernobyl. Haunting images show in a very respecful, and simple style. He has not worked the images to extent that i am overwlemed by oberserving these images.  I really love how ttruely they real are. Untouched. I has to be one of the most brilliant locations of all time. Can't wait to jet off there.

Emulsion Lift For 600 Film. Polaroid.

Silver Shade Lift.
Colour Lift.
These unique pieces was an experiment to settle my curiosity of the process.  Carefully trim the frame of your polaroid and soak it in boiling hot water, until you witness the transparent part of the picture slowly edge away from the gooey bit that has your picture on it. The aim is to then transfer this gooey bit to luke warm water. using a very soft paintbrush, you can open the gooey layer out to see your image, simply slide water colour paper underneath the gooey bit, and tease it into a square. You have to be so delicate with this process, and it takes a little time, and a few attempts to perfect it, but the end result is so worth it.  Here are two examples, one black and white and one colour. Im in love with this technique. Just need my loan to buy more film and i am ready to roll. Every result is unique and every print that turns out right makes you more eager to do it again and again. Stunning texture and tone. Its like mixing photography with my passion for messy art.
Link below will probably give you better instructions that me.

Ukraine Chernobyl.

Just WOW.
Ukraine Chernobyl. The abandoned radio active city of Ukraine. Sod the sun. Im going here on my jolly holidays. The world's worst nuclear disaster took place on April 26, 1986 when testing in the Chernobyl power plant, 62 miles north of Kiev, triggered a fiery meltdown of the reactor's core. Thirty people were killed in the accident, 135,000 were evacuated, and one hundred times more radiation was released than by the atom bombs dropped over Hiroshima and Nagasaki... The Cloud.

The Cloud.
Inspired by "Chris's Story" (See below post) Considering the terror revolving around St Luke's Hospital, and the nightmare which was his life. The colour being absorbed form his life. And the loss of hope, and the neglect of a life, stolen by the monsters in the corridors.  The world is fucked up.

Luke's Windows.

Luke's Windows.
Placed side by side. Watching the outside. And banging heads against a window. I want more of these shots. Create a large line of them. It would look beautiful.

St Luke's.

St Luke's. Derelict Places. Trip Three.

 Canon 600D.
Third trip to St Luke's. Each time i go i favour a few photos. Often enough I'm to scared to even press the shutter.  My fascination with the building at the moment, is all the bedrooms in the old building. (Main Building). They feel so personal. There is a certain essence about them. All different colours. These would of been the rooms of the long stay patients. So the really crazy ones, and also the dorms for the inmates of the workhouse. I can imagine people staring out of them with dreamless thoughts. They are a powerful little rooms.  Those walls must of seen so much. (Bottom Image) Another bath tub, and another haunting corridoor. I cant seem to get myself to go down some of them as they plunge you in darkness. Im not going back here. Its giving me nightmares.
